Sense of purpose (or a lack of)
I started off this blog as a tongue-in-cheek way of communicating with friends abroad. It also provided me with a way of venting frustrations.
It also allowed me to get in touch, if you will, with a more creative side of myself. I do love writing, but often, and this is one of the reasons I have not been updating the blog, I have no way of remaining on the light side of things or there is a complete lack of inspiration.
You see, when I began writing on the blog, I also managed to avoid joining social networks. Since then, Google+ made it's appearance and I decided to give it a shot. I really don't mind it. It is a great way to connect to people and I think it's not as intrusive as Facebook (where is my advertisement monies Google?!). This also, contributed in the decline of postings.
All the themes are pretty much exhausted. Should i talk about the world economic crisis? Nah. Better and more educated people than myself have (over)done that. In previous posts I also took a step in revealing what was going on on a personal level. Maybe that was a bit much. So you see all the "interesting" subjects are discussed/over analyzed or just not as interesting as one might expect.
I guess I could comment on the newest changes on the blogger site. New swanky layouts (as you can see) and some interesting additions (or stuff I never noticed before). One of the additions I ended up looking at was the "Stats" references. In there you can find really cool stuff, such as: the total views of your blog, as well as the country of origin, and which link led them to your blog. For instance if there was a query from google.gr that led them to this blog, i could see it. Along with the query they performed. Scary, huh?
I was surprised by the amount of visits here. Mind you I thought i had limited the access to a few people, but apparently its not the case. The sheer amount of visits, surprised me. 455 till now. I really only shared this with a dozen people :). No doubt most of them are by accident.
As for me, I am still kinda following the current of life wherever that takes me. Growing tired of the uncertainty that surrounds me. However, there are good things involved in uncertainty. Pleasant surprises all around. Recently I began tutoring. Started off with one student and now just took up my second one. Yeah... me.. warping educating minds of children! Other than that, lots of work, lots of hockey practice.. although lately i have been slacking off... and few outings with choice friends.
Having said all of the above, I am not sure if I will keep updating this blog, given the introduction of G+. I might still do so, for sentimental reasons if for nothing else. I really don't want to end up posting just songs. I created this blog to share experiences. Kind of like an online diary. So I guess I'll try to keep things updated monthly. Hopefully I'll be able to share with you more exciting stories then just work/sleep/CRISIS!
Now you ask me.. "Petros/Mr. No Consequence Man/Papa/Dude, what is the point of all this?" There really isn't a point to any of this. If you want sense, or even purpose i refer you to your address bar. You are at the wrong blog.
Before I leave you I offer three tunes. One as a shout out to my good friend Tiger Lily, who shared the first song with me, and the other one I uploaded on G+ when it was still by invite. Old school rock. One of the greatest that ever were. Last song, most of you should know. Just to leave you with a sense of yearning...
