September update!

Wow! It has been about two months since i got here.... unbelievable... Time does fly

So i think this is time for an update. I think i will be doing this monthly for those who want to keep up with news. Starting October however i will be providing more details..

So... September started with best of signs! Met lots of new people, saw some interesting things and in general still lazing about!

At the very beginning of September i became a midwife (?) to 6 .... yes count them 6! beautiful puppies. Missy, one of our 4 Maltese, gave birth to them. I think we will be keeping one for a total of now 7 dogs! Talk about vanity ;p... Btw, did you know that dogs walk the birthing process out? Or as my sister-in-law put it... "Real women walk it out!"

So then came my sisters wedding. Great fun was had. The wedding was great, and my nephews baptism that followed was also... well... great? I pose it as a question because the little guy didn't stop crying. I mean if i were butt naked, covered in oil (i know to many people this might actually sound good ;)... but this is were it becomes bad...) with about 200 people watching while some old dude with a HUGE beard, and I am talking clam HUGE beard, is putting me fully underwater, i would be crying too.

After the wedding hype died down, came the calm... Days have been rolling by quietly and i have been enjoying it. My day usually consists of sleeping, eating, taking care of what i like to call the farm, and meeting up with friends, for drinks or just coffee... an interesting discussion that takes place while we are having coffee (and this makes me laugh) is about the effects of the financial crisis. I laugh because for those who are not aware, an average greek coffee meet is about 3-5 hours long ;)

As i said, i have been given lots of time to chill so i have been reading alot... finished part 3 and i am halfway through part 4 of George RR Martins saga "A song of ice and fire" An amazing storyline for all to read. Also i need to get some pictures up and running on my gmail account.

Anyways, I should be going to Athens in the weeks to come, in order to meet up with an old friend there, and also spy on my younger sister. Oh! great news as well!At the end of the month, around the 22nd or so i am going to be going to Italy for the European roller hockey championships. Although i am quite useless as a player, since i have only attended 3 practices thus far, i will be going as assistant general manager, which basically gets reduced to coffee/water/towel boy... but hey it would be great fun with every one around... also srsly... which italian girl wouldn't want to get to know a general manager better? ;)

Counting down on my army time as well.. I have considered volunteering for the special ( yes... i would like to hope that they do wear a helmet) forces. Might be just talk, but it sounds like an experience for sure. Now, whether it would be good or bad, i am not sure. Time will tell :)

Well i guess that is it from me, for the time being. I hope everyone is doing great!

Cheers.

  2. Glad to read you're relaxing and enjoying your time. It seems to me it's important to change one's batteries back home.

Enjoy the roller hockey championships..."You can do it"!

  3. The only bad thing so far (which actually might also be good) is that i have limited access to the interwebs.

@ Lee, little Adobe is a damn cute doggie. We'll see if i can get to keep her.

@ Sami! Talk about charging mah batteries. I am filling up to the brim... wait.. that sounded wrong :P . Updates on the roller hockey championship to follow at the end of the month ;)

    Thanks for the feedback
